Sadly, the visit planned for LHR/ LTCC West Drayton was cancelled due to security issues.

We hope to get another one done in the future.

Additionally, I am able to set up another similar visit for non HCGB members on here if there is sufficient interest.

Standby for further.....! Smile

I would be very happy for you to set up a visit just for the HeliTorque bunch, totally separate to the HCGB visit, if that's OK with you?

I, for one, don't want to come along in a suit and tie!!!! And I'm sure the rest of us on here who would like to visit don't want that either Smile

Maybe we could organise this as a fly-in and land there. I notice Hayes Heliport is very nearby, and there must be some good open-space hotels near there?

Or is this all a little bit too much to expect with the current security?

Adam.

Not sure if Hayes is still active actually. Not seen anything in there for 18 months!

As for landing nearer.... the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza is less than a mile away. Not sure how many they can get onthe ground at any time though. (Would you want to leave yr pride and joy on the lawn near a council estate!?!?!?! Smile )

Other than that, Denham is a pricey taxi ride away. (DON'T EVEN ASK ABOUT LHR!!!)

Numbers wise would probably have to be capped at 8-10.

At the moment, security is tight but we can makea plan.... maybe for late September>>?

(Oh, and you can wear shorts and tee-shirts!!!)

That sounds brilliant. Well, count me in, plus one, for definite. Sptember sounds good.

I checked Pooley's, and Hayes Heliport is withdrawn, apparently. Not even sure what was there before. Maybe someone could chip in and find out?

I'll do some research and find a local hotel. Maybe the one you mentioned would be OK.

I know that the HCGB were talking about people using Harrods Aviation as handlers for anyone who wanted to fly into Heathrow, but they charge about ??160 landing fee, and I guess with the security, it wouldn't be allowed now anyway. Maybe we could have done a deal with someone there.

I'll get back to you. Do you want to suggest some dates?

For the security, I'm sure we'd all be fine sending in copies of our passports or something before the event, if it helps?

Adam.

Adam,

I am on leave right now (free for flying though Smile )

Will try and get a date in a few weeks.

I will also start another post with it on.

We have to do the HCGB one first as they are next in the queue.

Mid September might work.

Cheers

Yes, I would like to go to that one as well. Try and make it early in September for the daylight.

Embarassed

Sorry people - follwoing the enhanced security at the London Centre, no visits are being authorised at this time.

I will let you know when the situation improves.
