Calling all rotorheads! This would be a great place to introduce yourself and tell us a bit about where you come from, what you do, what you fly, and how long you have been into helicopters! Photographs optional!!

Name : WhirlyGirl
Location : Birmingham, UK
Based : Coventry (EGBE)
CPL(H) / FI(H) - R22, R44, H269, B206. When I first started this forum as a way of meeting other helicopter-mad folk way back in 2003, I had no idea it would grow to be such a great community, nor did I realise that 5 years on I would be flying helicopters commercially and instructing. I love my job and every brings new and exciting challenges and there's never a dull moment. I'm working at Coventry airport doing mainly instructional flights with a bit of charter and commercial work here and there. I'll try to keep updating this post a bit more often than every 3 years in future!!
I fly at Wellesbourne Mountford in Stratford (EGBW) and I got my PPL - (H) recently.
I have flown types :
Robinson - R22 (Training Helicopter)
Robinson - R44
Bell Jetranger (My first ever trial lesson!!!)
I have been into Helicopters for as long as I can remember. Too many hours as a kid watching Airwolf and Blue Thunder!!!
My ultimate machine when I am exceptionally rich and famous would be a Bell 222 painted with the same colour scheme as Airwolf. I absolutely love that machine!!
My name is Daniel Lardek, and im residing in Stockholm Sweden. Helicopters are a major part of my life, and has been since i was a kid, even thou im not working with them at the moment. I have a background in the Swedish Navy as a Sergeant helicopter mechanic, and have studied helicopter engineering at College of Aviation Tech. I have hours both riding left seat, and a little hands on in these beutiful machines, and someday i hope to get my pilotslicence....
My favourite birds are the MD500, Boeing Vertol, and the HUEY......and so on =))
Hi, I met WhirlyGirl and Mark today (25th July) at Weston Heliday!
I am currently serving in the British Army Air Corps as a flying instructor, teaching on the Lynx AH7. In my spare time I fly with the AAC Historic Aircraft Flight as Rotary Lead in the Bell 47 Sioux AH1. I've been flying for about 12 years as a pilot and have gained approx 3000 flying hours. Prior to becoming a pilot, I flew as an aircrewman gaining about 600 hours. Prior to that, its a bit of a shady past!!
Types flown to date:
Chipmunk T10
Gazelle AH1
Puma
Wessex
AH64A
Hawk T1
Sioux AH1
Allouette II
Scout
Squirrel
This looks like it could turn into a top site!! especially as there are not many sights dedicated to us types who enjoy a machine thats trying to rip itself to bits all the time!

Blimey - where do you start:?
I'm Ex-Mil having served in N.I on 3 occasions. Puma, Gazelle, Wessex.
I served some time on the Surrey Police ASU (AS355)
I'm now a private owner (B206 BIII). I came 4th in the British Championships last year flying my R44 Raven II which I bought from brand new, being the very 1st Raven II in Europe (Great ship)
My 206 has been used in the filming of Treasure Hunt, Flying Gardner and was used by Robbie Williams in the Angels Video.
Favorite Ship has to be the MD600 NOTAR even though it's a buggar to fly!
Favorite toy in the hangar for Sunday afternoon jaunts has to be the Bell 47 or a Allouett II (It's an age thing guys )
I'd love to take on a World record attempt, silly as it sounds - flying backwards over the water to France (Someone may as well try it, and it's safer than flying to the poles!) _________________ TC - Pilot to the Stars.

Hi I'm "Orange Arm Waver" (Gary).
I don't fly but do have an interest in most forms of flying. In my spare time I am an Aircraft Marshaller at various events with over 15 years of continuous experience under my bats.
We usually marshal fixed wing types with the Vintage Aircraft Club (I'm also on the committee), Moth Club and at Turweston
My sister and I run our marshalling team and I'm the regular heli-marshaller. We are also involved with Abingdon Fayre.
Have flown in various types as a passenger and marshalled a number more both civil and military.
Have worked at 7 helidays and have friends at the musem and Avia-Press.
Anything else you'd like to know? Just ask
Oh and I chose the Avatar as it was the last helicopter I marshalled (Sunday at the Museum - G-ONEB)
I'm, errr, James Lowe (you'd never have guessed, would you?) .
I got my PPL(H) in 2002 flying R22s out of Costock - the home of East Midlands Helicopters.
Had a go in the new R44 a couple of weeks ago, and will be commencing on a conversion soon - just need to sort out some time off work!!
I think I'm quite similar to Mark in terms of where my interest started - definately programmes like Airwolf sparked my interest. Also, closer to home, the likes of Treasure Hunt and Interceptor captured my attention - I'd love to have a go in a Agusta 109 someday. (I keep playing the Lottery, but I think I'm doing something wrong!)
Like James I also trained at Costock about 4 years ago. I have flown planks for 20 years (and still do) and currently have an R22 rating. I am trying to get enough people together to form a syndicate to buy and operate a helicopter but am having trouble finding them. Type could be anything from a Rotorway Exec at the bottom end up to an R22 or H300 if I can find sufficient people. Anybody interested please let me know.
My only type experience so far is R22, R44, HT3, Rotorway Exec.
I have a 4 acre field at the back of my house which I use fairly frequently to land in, as do DHFS from Shawbury. All visitors are very welcome
I just wish I had got a PPL(H) many years earlier!

No not working them this time although a couple of us are planning to go on Sunday so we have an idea for the World's next year - we've volunteered(?) to be part of the setting out team with Jimmy Betts.

Currently converting to an Enstrom F28F as it is owned by the company I work for.
Hopefuly will also get a 500 conversion, just for the fun of it
I spend my spare time flying to displays with Dennis and try and pretend I can make videos which have been doing the rounds
We have been to

2. Rougham
and will be doing
3. Rougham on 22-08-04

I am married to a helicopter instructor.
You may know him of course.
He is Cap't BLME!
I am not a qualified pilot myself. Only about 35 - 40 hours in one of those plank things!!
I have had about 3-4 hours in a Jetranger - magnificent machine.
Had a go in R22 and R44, but found Jetranger much easier to fly.
Such a privilege to be up in the air. Never take flying for granted.
Met some wonderful people since I met Cap't BLME. Married him, of course!!
'Thomas Coupling' is quite a character - aren't you TC? Remember Scally's Bar down in Weston super Mare!!
