Anyone been on the Skymap GPS training days at Goodwood Question

Whilst I can just about navigate my way around the system and carry out most of the basic functions, the maual is very basic and it would be nice not to have the pressure of running the battery flat whilst playing with it on the ground Exclamation

Alan from Honeywell was at Wycombe airpark on Saturday. I spent some time with him discussing the skymap III and it's functions.

It has so much to offer - but nothing extra that would assist the helicopter pilot in everyday VFR useage that we don't already use. A great bit of kit though and worth the extra hour or so learning the twiddly bits Wink

One thing that came out of the discussion was the need to update the machine - not just the map database. Honeywell on average do 3 software upgrades a year.
