Have you ever attended the CAA safety course?

I went to one, and it is very good and useful, and you get your log book signed by the CAA guy himself. Plus they arrange for a military pilot to come along for a quick chat and questions.

It's about three hours long, with a 30 min break in the middle, and a chance to chat with the guy himself. The course is all about general safety issues, situational awareness, common sense, and some small specifics.

I would see if I could get the guy to center it about helis, as the standard course is more fixed wing orientated.

How about me organising a fly-in and a course somewhere for us heli peeps.

I'll see if I can add some more interest too with another speaker of some sort.

Central location, 11am Saturday some time soon, lunch during the break (buffet).

Complete the poll, and let's see if this is a runner.

A.

I went to one at Wellesbourne. Lasted a few hours, but was mainly attended by fixed wing pilots (about 5 of us heli people attended). Unfortunately nobody signed my logbook. Sad

I don't remember the reason, but they were only signing FAA logbooks, which seemed a bit bizarre since it was a CAA safety meeting.

I wouldn't mind going to another one - anything to improve safety!

If we can get the numbers up to about 15 or 20, then I think I will be able to pursuade the CAA guy to do a special.

Anyone else interested?

Looks like we've got 5 takers for this at the moment....any more interested? If not, I'll put this one to bed.

Add one to the list please...

Adam, did you set the poll to have a duration or was it ongoing?

DB Chopper, sure you haven't voted already? You can only vote once.

These are the only two factors which will stop the buttons coming up!! Very Happy

Can't remember now, it was so long ago. WG, can you check it and alter it? I can't do it, I've tried.

The poll seems to have expired... you'd have to edit your fist post and put the options back in again, but then I dont' know if this would get rid of the existing votes...

Maybe better if people just pop their names on this thread if they're interested. Where would it take place anyway, if it should go ahead?

I'm sure people would have done that by now, and it doesn't look like we'll get another 10 or so.

So I'm going to put this one to bed. At least I tried!
