The 22nd was my youngest daughters birthday, the 23rd my eldest's she was given a Rubiks cube for one of her presents which I hogged! I had one back in the 80's but never managed it. It is possible to complete in 17 moves Shocked I did not sleep last night in determination and in the early hours I cracked it, after 24 years. Not quite 17 moves but none the less an achievement Very Happy . Any one else solved it?

Sad fact when I was 11 I could do the cube in around 45 seconds.

Its all about repeating patterns.

I tried a couple of years ago and it took me a couple of hours or so, I had to teach myself how the patterns worked again and work some of them out from scratch.

I'd be surprised if it could be completed in 17 moves from any state but perhaps mathematiically its possible !

Well when I was a wee nipper I impressed everyone at Christmas by completing it. I didn't tell anyone I had actually just peeled the stickers off and put them back on the appropriate side....hehe.
