Dear All

As we didnt have a get together at Xmas last year, it would be nice to get some get togethers a flyins organised this year

Any ideas for venues for 2010 and when in the year to have them.

Just an idea, but its my 40th Birthday in August this year and it would be nice to help celebrate it with some fellow helitorquers somewhere at a flyin.

But any general ideas for venues, airfields, hotels etc.

Martin

Someone mentioned Miskin last year... they have a really nice big field and the owner is heli friendly...

Failing that, I would love to meet up with a few of you at lake Vrynwy...although I dont think you could get many aircraft on their pad.... they might be persuaded to let us land higher up though if more wanted to attend..

or on the subject of hotels, may be a sunday lunch at the Burrington Hotel near Ludlow that we had the 2008 Helitorque Xmas do at.
Ifthey have removed the trees in the garden then theres probably room there for four and two just a bit further down.

How about a re-run of Barnsdale Hall Hotel... bring back the nice memories of our very first summer flyin that was very successful! How many helicopters did we have at that one?

There's also Barnsdale Lodge, which I have never visited, but which gets some very good reviews from fellow aviators.

I think we ought to put something in the diary. What do you reckon? Maybe it will help all this cold weather go away!! (wishful thinking!)

Sarah

The landing area at Barnsdale Lodge is pretty small unless they can move the cattle out of the main field.

Hello everyone,

I've had this idea for a while of trying to arrange a "Helicopter" Fly-in, I'm not sure if its because there is less of us, but apart from the safety evenings we never seem to get together. The "Plank Boys" quite often organise these do's, and they appear to be quite popular (the do's not the "planks"!!).

So here goes, if you're flying around, or wanting a reason to go for a fly, why not pop in and join me for a tea, how about North Weald (EGSX) on Saturday 24th April from midday.

It's big enough if quite a few turn up, there is usually something interesting stuff to look at and the "Squadron" does some nice grub!!

Hope to see you there, obviously depending on the lovely UK weather

Hi,
I changed the date of the "possible" fly-in at North Weald to Saturday 24th April. There is quite a big Warbirds event on the Sunday.

Hope to see you there.
