This time we're doing it in two R22s, one R44 and a JetRanger. It's over 1200 nautical miles round trip and will take 4 days (allowing time for chilling out when we're there).
If anyone wants to tag along you'd be most welcome. All the aircraft are full but if you have a helicopter and want to join us on the trip feel free - the more the merrier. The house we have down there is pretty well full now with 13 of us going but if you fancy an epic trip there are plenty of B&Bs down there and we can hook up for dinner and beer in the evenings! We leave on the 8th and come back on the 11th (weather permitting).
No doubt there will be a trip report... and if you're lucky photographic and video evidence - the famous dry suit may make a comeback!
How was your trip?
What did you think of Luchon....my wife and I are flying out there in mid July to look for a house in the Luchon/St Lary area....by Easy Jet I'm afraid _________________ heliaviator(Ian) PPL(H) R44

Very nice Sarah, looks like another good trip with nice weather enroute.
I am very jealous of one of our crews who are currently ferrying a Super Puma from Stavanger to Nigeria. From Stavanger they left to Newcastle then Redhill, down through France and Spain, over to Morocco and strangely enough are stuck in Lanzarote whilst trying to sort clearances for landing in Ghana.... lucky buggers!
