..............for you to feel TOTALLY comfortable with being out of your comfort zone and flying at 2,000ft in a tiny bubble in an unusual enviroment during your PPL (H) training?

Is it normal to feel slightly uneasy during your first few lessons?

And if so, how did you over come the feeling?

Don't worry, had it once or twice during the early hours....... if I recall correctly, just as I was getting to grips with the actual flying bit..... I guess a bit of capacity was freed up to panic about the durability of the R22!!!

Only time I had it subsequently was t'other week, whilst flying with the door off for the first time, playing with a longline.

Don't know what to suggest really; keep focussed on the piloting and it should pass!

Possibly. Shocked

It is amazing the re assurance the doors offer in the R22 lol

I have never flown with out doors but I am in no great rush to try it.

If man was meant to fly he would have rotor blades, we are not meant to fly so it is only natural that we question what the hell we are doing sometimes.

Best thing is to keep your head in the cockpit and concentrate on your scan, don't let your thoughts wander to the fact you can see the end of the skid shaking about outside with nothing else below it for hundreds of feet. Shocked

I suspect they would be on the ground waiting for you after a stint at -30!

Alfa - stick with it...... it really does fade away, and the odd reminder I don't mind...... it keeps us honest!!!
