That's a damn good question PW, and a point that didn't escape my attention Bravo!

I'm not sure if the post is too long (I'm sure I have seen - and possibly entered - longer posts on here) but every time I try, computer says nooo.

I'll try later from my laptop to see if that works. Technology, eh? #Crazy

Seriously though I seem to recall that I had a similar problem a while back and despite WG's best efforts it took a while to figure out it was just one word in my post that conflicted with some computer coding.

Can remember what the word was now thou!

Hi Folks,

I apologise that the thread I started with such good intentions disappeared into nothing, but try as I might I was unable to post any meaningful accounts of the training because the computer said no. Again.

Suffice it to say, I have finally passed the course and submitted my pile of hopeful paperwork to the CAA. It was a considerably longer course than I anticipated due to, piss-poor weather on more occasions than I have ever encounted before, my instructor Marcus running screaming from the R22 and going off to fly big, sexy EC155s instead (how odd...), delays while the other instructors received their standardisation training to teach CPL students, Christmas, the death of a close relative (I'm not blaming him - it just happened), the helicopter I was using not being on the approved list for CPL courses, and finally scouring the country for a 170 signatory and a CPL(H) examiner small enough to fit alongside my manly frame in the R22 and not put us out of CofG limits...

Any road up, after all my bleating I'd like to thank Marcus, Rob and Ric for all their helpful hints, tips and advice, and to Gary for all his help and support and behind-the-scenes arranging and sorting. I'd also like to thank Richard and Stuart because as examiners for the 170A and skill test respectively, they were both complete gentlemen and did a lot to put the nervous candidate at his ease.

And finally - I DID IT! HURRAH FOR ME! Cheers!

Good work skipper!!!

Now I know where Redhill is, we shall have to arrange that long-promised libation interlude!!! Very Happy

(On a different note, good choice sticking to the R22 for the test...... I had to eat a shed load of pies to limit the amount of fuel the 300 could take for my test.....) Wink

Thanks guys.

It's a very nice, but somewhat surreal feeling to have it in the bag. I think it will still be a surprise when the licence drops through the letterbox.

PW - I'm still writing the party invitations so bear with me occasion5

LB - oh yes indeed. You'll be able to find your way back with your eyes closed. Almost help

Maybe Mr CP S. could open up their hangar for a Helitorque get together as Catwoman suggested and celebrate your achievement at the same time?
