Im trying to setup pane on my mac to fly like a real heli so i can get some practice in whilst I'm saving and waiting for my medical.
When i take off and increase the collective i seem to yaw right quite significantly until i reach around 1000ft where it seems to stabilise. is this just normal torque effect or do i have something wrong? all my controls are centralised in the settings menu.
I have no idea about whether your sim settings are accurate, but certainly in a real helicopter you must add left pedal while raising the collective to prevent right yaw... 'feet off' neutral pedals in the hover will get your attention!
As airspeed increases, a real helicopter will benefit from weathercocking stability and other aerodynamic jiggerypokery which will reduce the severity of uncorrected right yaw.
So I'm guessing that:
Yawing to the right on takeoff is accurate if you aren't adding left pedal
The right yaw seems less pronounced at 1000ft because your airspeed is higher
Thanks for the replies, I'm a bloody idiot every time i get the problem is whilst I'm raising the collective. But i was sure that i was holding it steady so i had my mate film me and sure enough i was pulling up on the lever without even realising. lol.
