Dear all,

I've got friends from the Regiment (AAC), who are currently serving in Afghanistan. Communication with these guys are 'hit & miss' to say the least. Only yesterday, one of them replied to an email from me, which I sent over a week ago, apologising for the delay "MOD turned off the Internet, because of fatalities which had to be CASEVACíd out, and therefore had to wait for comm.ís until the families back home were informed". Suffice to say, contact with the 'outside World' including their own families, can be sporadic!

In the same email, he asked if I could send out a goodie parcel (cheeky begger - never send's me flowers! Laughing ). When I asked, what sort of stuff they needed (with exception to a good Woman/Man of course Wink ) he said, quote: "Cashew nuts, energy bars (no choc - it's 45 degrees!) Any flying mags, and anything with helos in it!"

These guys are Helicopter, through and through, and fully deserve our support. In fact, one of the guys is also a member of HeliTorque! (he'll kill me for posting this I know Very Happy )

What am I asking for?

Does anyone know of a Heli/flying magazine publisher that may be willing to send out copies of their publications on a regular basis to Afghanistan? The postage is free to BFPO addresses, up to 2 kilo in weight. I think it's the least we could do...

Or..... any other suggestions based on the above?

Thanks for reading, and hopefully, someone may be able to assist. I have the address of the unit, so please PM me if needed.

keep em in the Green!

TC

Try 'Rotor and Wing' - they send me a copy to my UK and one to my USA address despite trying to stop one or both many times. Never signed up and never had to pay for them.
