Who's going?

I am Wink

Maybe a chance for a get together as it's a stay-over.

It's the pre-shootouts for the World helicopter championships.

Subject to Wx - it's a stay-over weekend in the Barracks - should be fun

Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire ... Netheravon is here.

From page 2 of the October 2004 edition of Drumbeat, which is the newsletter of the Tidworth, Netheravon and Bulford Garrison Community on Salisbury Plain...
Quote:
Two ace helicopter pilots from Netheravon have won the top prize at the British helicopter championships - for the second year running !

It is is only the second time in the championship???s history that the same team has won the competition two years in a row. Many congratulations to WO1 Ron Watkins and WO2 Russ du Lieu from 7 Regt AAC(V), based in Netheravon.

Stop Press....

Netheravon is a definite NO NO to anyone not having a PPR number and slot time.

Looking at the joining instructions - I can understand why!

My barrack room sharing days were numbered over 10 years ago thank goodness Wink

Went to Kemble today with Cap't BLM, WGirl & WGuy for lunch!!

We travelled by Jetranger - WGirl flew us there, and very well she did too!! Cool

It was her birthday treat - she didn't know where she was going until she actually sat in the 'driving seat' Confused Confused

Must say though that the Jetranger is a wonderful machine to fly but unfortunately I had to sit in the back and be a 'passenger'!! Sad

It was hard work - that???s for sure!!!

Practice on the Saturday ( Confused ) why doesn't it always go to plan? Sad
"proper" competition on the Sunday, Fender and Slalom....
Fortunately we did OK Wink

Results were announced Sunday evening by email, unfortunately I was still trying to fly us back at 4pm through the C*rap Wx Embarassed Got a phone call from Sandy (Paul) to say that we got a 3rd place (not including the 3 Mil crews) and Russ and he got a 4th. Not a bad effort all round??

Stiff competition from the usual crews, and I still maintain that R22???s have an advantage!
