Dear All

Now that Chrimbo is out of the way, and the blood has been put back in the alcohol system from New Years Eve.

It may be time to think of places to meet up during 2006.

One event to put in your diary for 2006 is the Abingdon Country Fayre last weekend in April, it's on the Sunday 30th. The two R22's looked a bit lonely last year in the shadow of the Lynx, Chinook and Merlin.

Any other suggestions for venues for get togethers, how about maybe a summer barbecue??

Martin

When we had Uncle Bill at Dragon, he actually planned a Fly-In to Sheffield with a view to having games et al similar to the WHC (Navex test and dropping things in buckets etc.)
Then the Wx had other ideas and there were big gales that weekend, well forecast and so it was called off, planned to be looked at for the following spring (05 I think) but nothing happened.

When I next go in, I'll ask if there's a chance it could happen and if so, will post any details up here.

Watch this space.

Oi M - I'm quite tempted to offer you a challenge. You shed 5 stone and I'll get a R44 rating and take you up - sound good?

FF

One of the R22s was Mark and myself; we are planning to fly into Abingdon again for the 2006 show!

Dear FF

Sounds good to me,thanks for the offer, but the going up may be a while as I live in Didcot and by the looks of the avatar you are in Sheffield.

But maybe if we meet at a helitorque event there may be a chance to go up then.

Off to work out the diet plan.

Cheers

Hi oi_martin

I am also in need of a diet and exercise plan, which I intend to start this Friday Wink Why Friday??? you ask Confused Well, I don't work on a Friday - so......it's down to the gym for me Shocked

Abingdon beckons......so we will definitely be there again, arriving by air this time though. Be good to see you again. Happy New Year.

By the look of my avatar? Gosh can you tell it's Sheffield from the grass and the line of that beech hedge???? Wow - oh, it says Sheffield underneath.. mm right.

Now don't start putting obstacles in the way of doing this little thing Martin, Didcot is only Oxon, and I'm not THAT far away. If I can do a type-rating, you can ignore those sweeties. [Last night there was a guy on World's Strongest Man who weighs 100lbs more than me and he's the same height, I wonder how I'd look with that extra on.. Captain Beefcake I guess]

Catwoman, my gym opens at 6 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m. so why wait til Friday? Most gyms are there so you can be too whatever time it is. Had a great workout today, will go for another tomorrow. When you get your membership (if you haven't already) it's a great hook and you soon get to feel that you HAVE to go back and keep on going back for more. Looking at your old avatar I wouldn't have thought there was anything for you to lose..
I now have the complete pro outfit for my winter running - do I cut a dash or WHAT!!!

New Year's resolution (same as many others I expect) is to get back to the gym so that I'm paying for something worthwhile, rather than making a charitable donation as has been the case for a few months!

I was very good and went twice today - first thing this morning for a workout then back with the kids to swim in the afternoon , but with such an enthusiastic start it can only go downhill from here!!

Anyway, back to work tomorrow.
At least I can keep away from all those fanciable things in the cupboard.

Cheers

Just told my wife about the challenge and she has run off with all the sweets and chocolate. She says it will help.

Will keep you updated with the progress!!
Can't weigh in yet, scales say one at a time no coach loads.

I do actually pay a monthly fee for a local gym Shocked I could, or maybe more like should, go at lunchtimes as well. I only work Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, so my goal is to go on a Fri, Sat and Mon. I need to lose at least half a stone Shocked I know that doesn't sound a lot, but I am only 5' 3" and should only weigh in at 8st 7lbs at the most Shocked And I know that I feel fantastic when I go to the gym on a regular basis - I get completely hooked eventually8)

Must set myself a challenge Confused The challenge is SUMMER!!!!

I don't eat sweetie things, but it is the vino that is the downfall Confused

Good luck to all of you who are trying to tone up for the summer months Wink

Hi CW,

That'll be Ecclesall (no H - you're thinking of Lancashire) - if Capt Blimey was looking over your shoulder he'd have corrected you! I lived in Ecclesall (at Banner Cross) for 10 years after coming back from Nottingham (West Bridgford) until 8-1/2 years ago, then moved to Fulwood. Where did the venerable Cap'n live?

7lbs shouldn't be too hard eh? A 3mile run twice a week and a good workout on the cardio at the gym - get your money's worth!

Just throwing an idea into the mixing pot, what about members of HT from all around the world converging on a helicopter event and meeting up.

We, as in Heli Ops and my soon to be released new mag, could sponsor a chalet or the like at an event and play host. All you would have to do is get there and cover your accom, we would provide the venue and entry tickets etc.

What do you think, I was thinking about maybe the Dubai Heli Show in December.

Thoughts and feedback anyone.

Cheers

Ned

Ugh! Gyms. Horrid places. Hate 'em. Too much like hard work, if you ask me. Twisted Evil

But, I need to lose the weight I gained at Christmas, and still a couple more stones to go before I'm something like a "normal" weight. The way I do it? The WeightWatchers diet - exercise isn't required. AND, chocolate can be eaten. Laughing

Oh, and Heli-Ops - I like the idea, although it's going to depend hugely on price and time as to if I can get there....
