Just getting back to reality after a FANTASTIC weekend away at the HeliDays!! We went down in G-KYDD, an R44 from HeliAir, Wellesbourne on Saturday afternoon and stayed overnight at a place resembling Faulty Towers, but that's another story!
Flew south-west overhead Glouscester and past Bristol Filton. En-route I flew into Bristol Airport (EGGD) for an appoach onto runway 27. This was great practice for my radio and flying skills, as it's the largest airport I have flown into so far! Never made so many radio calls in my life! Great fun and unforgettable experience.
We approached Weston-Super-Mare from the south and arrived at the HeliDays late afternoon. Headed straight for the beer tent before checking into our hotel! Took an incredible 500 photos, the best of which I have posted online here :
Here are a few sneak previews, and there will be more posted in the Helicopter Photos Forum shortly, but for now check out the link above for the entire collection...

Hello to Rotorhead, Steph, Dantruck, Rotorboater, Lynx7, our adopted parents (yes, you know who you are!) and everyone else that we bumped into over at Weston-Super-Mare and at the pilot BBQ! An absolutely amazing trip, and great night out! Now what was that bar called, the name escapes me... See you all next year.

Yes I was there. I'm the one who looks really interested flying the R44!!! I was really!! Just a bad shot unfortunately.
Now was that taken as the engine fell out or just after!!
It was a fabulous time. Nice friendly people. Although there was a guy with a flag banner who seemed to be getting nicked by the cops for some reason. Anyone know what all of that was about??
Also anyone know exactly what it was that we were given by the (was it the Italians?) to drink. Some red kind of mouthwashy kind of thing. Wasn't too bad but I hope it wasn't too alcholic as they were finishing off a big barrel of the stuff on the Sunday. Hope they weren't doing too much flying that day!!
blme, just wondering how exactly you remembered the name of that pub when we all seem to have wiped it from our memories. Must have been a very memorable moment for you in their. Wouldn't have been anything to do with the toilets would it??!!!!
Jus kiddin' He knows what I mean.
By the way who is that guy in the last picture with the hat on standing next to my instructor. Looks like Bob Carolgees!!
