If everyone's up for it, then I would suggest Miah's for a Sunday Curry! Then, there's no faffing around with walking or finding transport, to a pub/restaurant that I don't know... etc.

How many, and I'll get a table booked? I reckon the list looks something like this:

Whirlygirl & Whirlyguy
BLME & Catwoman
JTL & Miss Helen
Wozza (& Mrs Wozza?)
Rotorcraig & Alan
& Plank Driver
heliaviator + 1
Flying Foxy + 1

Do they also do non-curried food?

They do a handful of non-indian dishes. Last time I was in I picked up their takeaway menu. It includes:

"English Dishes" (All dishes served with fresh green salad and french fries)
Sirloin Steak
Fried Chicken
Omlettes: Mushroom, Chicken, Prawn, Plain.
Scampi.

Then Salad dishes
Chicken Salad, Prawn Salad and Green Salad.

Any good?

Hey, I'm coming too!! Heli is booked plus 1 pax - she is new to 2-seater flying so the idea of 'flying out to lunch' is quite a treat for her!

Hope to be there around 12:30 so if you book for 1 pm that would be excellent - no pressure for time then.

FF

Excellent news, Foxy - it'll be good to see you again!

I'm going to be so jealous of all these helicopters flying in, you know...!

I think Gladys in the tower at Nottingham is going to have her hat blown off with this sudden influx of helicopters!
I recall hard parking for about 6 helis max nose to tail - the rest will have to park on the grass next to the (2 is it Seanhump?) marked spots.
[3 spots I'm informed]

I've only flown to Nottingham once, when doing my QXC and the parking spots are at the south end of the field, in front of the southern hangars. (There is another hangar on the west side adjacent to the tower).

Phill Speechley was working out of there teaching on R22 for Central Helicopters. - perhaps still is!

Fuel is to the east or north of the tower - I only ever saw helis landing behind it as I was eating lunch [in me car] and haven't ventured round the corner to see. In fact, now I think of it, maybe it's Jet A1 on the northside and 100LL on the east side from what I remember of who positioned what, where.

I'm going SFH this Thursday pm and taking a CPL as company so my plan is to go to Nottm - I'll take my camera and ask Elaine to take useful pictures and post them on here later so you can see the airfield in the 'flesh' like you guys did for the Christmas fly-in.

Website http://www.nottinghamairport.co.uk/
Click on the AIRPORT FACILITIES link for a small b/w pic, parking is at the end of Rwy 21 in front of the hangar marked with a 5.

Do you mean Vera?

Believe it or not, I don't think I've ever shut down at Nottingham - it's the primary airfield EMH use for R22 training, so I've flown in and out countless times, never shut down there and never fuelled!

However, there are a couple of very obvious fuel pumps just in front of the tower - I think that's the AvGas. I wouldn't imagine parking to be a problem either - there's a huge grass triangle to make use of. When they've had the big magazine fly-ins, aircraft tend to park there.

Yes I meant Vera - I knew it was an 'old-fashioned' name and was corrected by Sean - I would have edited it to make it right but now you've blown my cover James!
We have met and she is really nice - perhaps a buddy of Amy Johnson's..
