Thought I'd start a thread on Police and Law Enforcement agencies around the world....what's out there and how you do business.

I'm a police pilot (now doing training & checking duties) in Melbourne Australia. We use 2 x AS365N3, 1 x SA365C1 and 1 x AS350BA helicoters. One N3 is dedicated Poice and SAR, the other N3 dedicated to EMS and SAR, the C1 is the back-up to keep the operational police and EMS operations going without downtime 24/7 and the AS350 is used for utility work in the field (such as, crop searching, traffic, transort, whatever).

We have an internal restiction that all metro police patrol flights must be in a twin as we operate down to 300' AGL day and night over the metro area. The EMS must be twin and IFR as well (dictated by the Health department). The Police N3 is also IFR and soon (next couple of months or so) we are starting NVG training for all our crews. The police N3 s also FLIR equipped.

Attached are some pics but not sure if they will work out.

Cheers

Hi Jesusnut!

Welcome to HeliTorque! Thanks for posting your pics - I have edited your links so that they show up on the page now. The reason they did not work the first time you posted them was:

It appears they were linked to from Jesusnut's site or another external website, and since it was posted they must have been taken down.

Thought you might like to see this video on the NYPD Aviation Unit here in the USA, New York.

It shows the equipment old and new as well as some nice city shots.

Enjoy.

No, I won't tell you if I was in it or not. Laughing
